Reggae recording artist Richie Flo hails from Brans Bury District in the parish of St. Thomas, Jamaica.  Born Richard Roberts to a musical family, Richie Flo is the fourth of five children. His love for music started at an early age; growing up with music of all genres was a part of his daily life. Richie Flo started writing poetry in his teens then transitioned to song writing after. A friend encouraged him to record a song he had written.  Since his first recording in 2004, Richie Flo has not looked back and has written and recorded numerous songs. Richie Flo is a talented reggae and dancehall artist incorporating his unique lyrical flow with rhymes and melodies. Richie Flo believes highly in spirituality and showcases this with his optimistic lyrics. 

 

Richie Flo has been featured in various events in Jamaica and Canada including: Grace Jerk Festival, Jambana Music Festival, Toronto Jamaica Day, TD Irie Music Fest, Redemption Toronto Reggae Fest and others. These opportunities have contributed to the development of interacting with the audience and introducing his unique sound.

 

Richie Flo is humbled, focused and dedicated to his craft, which is reflected in the music he produces. He released his dynamic EP titled, "Richie Flo", in the summer of 2014. Richie Flo continues to demonstrate his versatility with his debut 14-track album, “Life, Love & Music”, released July 2019. The album is a fusion of reggae, dancehall, R&B and Pop genres that are simmered into a stew of new sounds that will take you on a journey. Richie Flo’s latest single, “Trouble”, was released in October 2020 and speaks of the socio-economic issues around the world. He is currently working on an EP to be released in 2021. The EP will feature songs that showcase the various facets of love.

Richie Flo gives life, love and music with his debut album 

Reggae / Dancehall recording artist Richie Flo has released his debut album “Life, Love & Music”. The album is a fusion of Reggae, Dancehall, R&B and Pop genres that are simmered into a stew of new sounds and will take you on a journey that showcases his versatility. 

Richie Flo’s 14 track album features guest appearances by Ras Penco and Cario on “Hard Times”, a story of the artists growing in Jamaica from a life of poverty. Canadian songstress, Ms Paige, is featured on “Control Me”, the playful, yet suggestive lyrics penned by Richie Flo coupled with the vocal stylings of Ms Paige make for a flavourful collaboration that is sure to strike a chord in the hearts of fans. Richie Flo also teamed up with legendary producer, Christopher Birch, to create a thought provoking dancehall anthem, “Nah Tek No Program”. The song speaks on the need to be spiritually and mentally strong in the face of adversities. Antiguan-Canadian producer, Mike Payne, based in Toronto produced the instant classics, “Favourite Kush” and “Fall In Love”. Richie Flo produced the crowd pleaser “Baby”. A modern dancehall/Ska song about an attractive woman who makes a man go crazy. Deano Dean from Saint Thomas, Jamaica produced “Chop Dem Off”. A song about keeping away from insincere people. Izaak Wapachee produced nine songs on the album. Izaak, who is of Cree and Dutch heritage, adds to the dynamics of the album with the production of an impressive mix of genres, “Fimi Time Come” Trap/Dancehall, “Sing A Song”, “Innocent” and “Girls Love Me Bad” are Dancehall songs with Hip Hop influences. “You Can Make It” is a mixture of Pop and Dancehall, which speaks about having self-confidence in order to succeed. “Expectations”, a blend of Dancehall/R&B, is a look into the struggles confronted by youths today especially in Jamaica and other third world countries. 

“Life, Love & Music” was released on July 19, 2019 by Adyktve Entertainment; a record label owned by Richie Flo. The album is distributed by Tunecore and is available on all online music retailers, such as iTunes, Tidal and Amazon as well as all online streaming platforms.
